The Abraj Al Bait Clock Tower is a government-owned complex of seven skyscraper hotels in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It was built between 2002 and 2012 as part of the Abraj Al-Bait complex, which was built to accommodate the increasing number of pilgrims visiting Mecca. The tower stands at 601 meters (1,971 ft) and has 120 floors. It is the third-largest building in the world behind the Burj Khalifa and China’s Shanghai Tower. It has 128 storeys above ground, with 117 of them housing, hotel, and commercial space. The building has a long slender form with a width-to-height ratio of 1:9. The tower tapers gradually as it rises and the size of the ground floor is 65m x 65m (4,200 sq meters), while the top floor is 46m x 46m (2,100 sq meters). As of April 2022, it remains unfinished and unoccupied.

The other tower of the pair, the 439 m (1,439 ft) tall Guangzhou International Finance Center, is located on the other side of the axis and is also known under the name “West Tower”. The Guangzhou CTF Centre is therefore known as the “East Tower” as well. The tower houses the world’s fastest elevators, which can reach speeds up to 21 m/s (69 ft/s).
